After studying at the University of Melbourne from 1967 -1971, Michael commenced practice as an employee with a firm in Mornington before moving back to Ballarat in 1973 to work with his father, Hugh Fraser Morrow, at the firm of Morrow & Morrow. That firm merged to become Dobson Morrow, and later Cinque Morrow, before reverting back to Morrow & Morrow. He then went on to work with his father until 2007 when Hugh passed away.

Following Hugh’s death, the firm of Morrow & Morrow merged with Susanne & Alister McKenzie to become Morrow & McKenzie Solicitors until April 2017 when it became part of Mulcahy & Co Legal.

Michael is a Life Governor of Ballarat Regional Industries Inc. after 13 years service as a board member, and four years as Chairman.

A former board member of the Ballaarat Mechanics Institute, Michael is now Chairman of the Ballaarat Mechanics Institute Foundation.

A keen sailor, Michael has also been a member of the Ballaarat Yacht Club since 1958.

Michael has practiced in as a Solicitor for the last 46 years. He was awarded a Certificate of Service in June 1996 for his work as a member of the Solicitors Mortgage Investment Company sub-committee of the Law Institute of Victoria during the two years of negotiations with ASIC and the Victorian Government that set the framework for such organisations to continue as significant second tier lenders in Victoria.

Michael was awarded with a second Certificate of Service in May 2019 in recognition of outstanding contribution to the Law Institute of Victoria and the Legal profession.

Michael’s key areas of expertise include:

  • Wills and Estate planning – including Powers of Attorney;
  • Probate and Estate Administration;
  • Testator Family Maintenance claims (“Part IV’s”);
  • Applications to the Supreme and County Courts pursuant to the Trustee Act, the Wills Act, and the Administration and Probate Act.
