Responsibilities
If suitable for this position, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing accounting and tax assignments from start to finish
- Preparation and lodgement of Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for individuals, sole traders partnerships, trusts and companies
- Tax Planning & dealing with key tax issues
- Planning and business advisory, including preparation of cashflow budgets
- Managing a team of accountants, which will include specific management of team members workflow and task prioritisation
- Tax compliance work
- Liaising directly with clients and external bodies (e.g. Australian Taxation Office)
- Managing & driving client relationships & communication
Required Skills
- Prior small to medium business and taxation experience in a public practice
- CA or CPA Qualification or working towards this (desirable)
- Experience in a broad range of tax, accounting and business matters
- Ability to multi-task, work independently and prioritise tasks in a highly organised and methodical manner
- Ability to manage people
- Strong skills in the Microsoft office suite with an emphasis on Excel
- Experience with Xero, Practice Manager or any other accounting software highly desirable
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- SMSF experience (desirable)
- Mentoring team members (desirable)
